Game Changer: Hyperion Profitability and Cost Management’s Management Ledger Application Type
John Conlee and Brian Williams,
Vertical Edge Consulting Group, Mark Wright, Oracle Corporation

When Hyperion Profitability and Cost Management was first introduced it served a valuable purpose, but its lack of flexibility and functionality kept it from becoming a widely used product. The new releases of HPCM introduce the Management Ledger application type, which eliminates those concerns. Management Ledger applications provide more flexibility and ease of maintenance, and they are more geared toward management reporting needs than their predecessors. This presentation will show you how to increase visibility into the details that drive profit in your organization.

OBIEE Can Help You Achieve Your GOOOOOOOOOALS!
Andy Rocha and Peter Tamisin,
Rittman Mead

The World Cup is the most captivating sports event in the world. We work with the best BI tool in the world. So, why not bring the two together?

With that in mind, we used OBIEE to create our own game-tracking page for the 2014 World Cup. Using several visualization tools (D3, HTML/CSS for spatial analysis, image deployments, jQuery, and good old OBIEE graphs), Rittman Mead's own Socialize tool (have you ever though about adding commentary to your dashboards?) as well as our own data entry tool (developed in Grails!) we created a great dashboard that updates users with real time scores, stats, match events, player and team information and allows them to leave their own comments about each match.

In this presentation, we will mock our own little soccer match, so we can then break apart the dashboard and discuss with the audience each piece of technology involved in building the final product.

Getting Started with DRM
Jordan Wilcox,
TopDown Consulting

Oracle describes Oracle Hyperion Data Relationship Management (DRM) as an application that “…helps proactively manage changes in master data across operational, analytical, and enterprise performance management silos.” The description goes on to outline what users can do and the likely results, but it never tells you how to get DRM to do all of this great stuff and deliver results that will make your boss happy. This webcast is a practical guide that walks through how to quickly get started with DRM. It will show you how to create and configure a DRM application for managing and loading metadata. The webcast will also include tips, tricks, and gotchas to help you avoid pitfalls and get up and running on DRM in no time.
